1. The Bible says we are all sinners.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

2. The price we pay for our sin is eternal punishment.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

3. There is not enough we can do to earn our salvation.

Ephesians 2:8, 9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast."

4. That is why Jesus had to come and die for our sins on the cross.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

5. And Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation.

John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

6. We must receive Him as our savior if we want to go to heaven.

John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--

Romans 10: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ROMANS 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

7. When we receive Him we become born again.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! II Corinthians 5:18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
